Ply is a modern procurement platform that helps mechanical businesses streamline how they source, buy, and manage materials – connecting field teams, warehouses, and suppliers in one place.
Challenge
Mechanical businesses lacked a simple tool to manage inventory and workflows across field, office, and suppliers. Existing systems were fragmented or outdated, causing delays, errors, and inefficiencies.
Solution
We designed an intuitive system tailored to the needs of small and mid-sized businesses. The platform simplifies back-office operations by prioritizing clean flows, adaptive layouts, and clear data hierarchy. Every step of the interface was built to be structured yet easy to use – helping teams manage inventory and logistics confidently, without added complexity.

Streamlined purchasing process
All purchasing activities are consolidated in one workspace from single-item RFQs to full BOM-based project requests. Clear statuses and structured flows simplify supplier coordination.
Smart job tracking
We armed warehouse managers and field technicians with simple workflows to easily allocate materials to jobs, attach to invoices for job costing, and transfer tools, parts and equipment between locations.
Inventory count control
We created a streamlined interface for managing inventory counts across locations. Built-in conflict detection and scheduling make routine audits faster and easier to manage.
Smart file import
The import feature allows users to upload large material lists in .csv or Excel format. The interface provides clear instructions, highlights file size limits, and gives real-time feedback during processing.
Clean data visuals
Key inventory metrics were visualized in a clean, mobile-friendly dashboard. The layout highlights essential data using color cues and clear structure.
