In command and control, the interface decides how fast a team sees the situation and agrees on what to do. Too many windows, stale data or unclear authority slow everyone down. Cosmos Studio designs C2 interfaces around one shared picture, clear roles and safe actions.
Our closest experience is the Bravo1Alpha platform, where analysts work on maps with MIL-STD-2525 annotations and turn them into structured reports. We start every C2 project by mapping roles, decisions and data sources with your operators, so the design follows how your team really works.
The core screens of a command and control system.
A map-first view with units, tracks, areas and layers, where symbols, filters and time controls stay consistent for every role.
Status boards for units, vehicles and drones: location, readiness, comms and last update time, with problems shown first.
Flows to create and assign tasks, confirm receipt and follow progress, with clear authority and confirmation for critical actions.
Messages linked to map objects and tasks, plus handover summaries that show the next team what changed and what is still open.
Timelines, replay and exportable reports that show every decision with its time, author and context.
What we check on every C2 screen.
Every role works from the same picture, so teams do not argue about whose screen is right.
MIL-STD-2525 and APP-6 used consistently on maps, lists and reports.
The interface shows who can order what, and who confirmed it.
Live, delayed and offline data look different, so old information is never mistaken for new.
Important actions need clear confirmation and can be reviewed later in the log.
Dark, high-contrast modes and layouts that work on laptops and rugged tablets.
Projects that shape how we design C2 interfaces.

Book a Discovery CallYour project requires a team inside classified networks, security clearances or certified military software development.
We design common operational picture views, unit and asset status, tasking and orders, messaging and shift handover, and decision logs with after-action review.
We have not shipped an operational C2 system. Our closest work is the Bravo1Alpha analysis platform: map-heavy, role-based, with MIL-STD-2525 annotations and structured reports. We bring that experience and research your operators' workflows before designing.
Yes. We design with MIL-STD-2525 and NATO APP-6 symbology and add custom symbols only when the standards do not cover a specific need.
Yes. We design clear states for live, delayed and offline data, so operators never mistake old information for a live update. On-premises and offline deployments are supported through our engineering partners.
A UX audit of an existing system takes 1–2 weeks. Designing core workflows usually takes 4–8 weeks, and larger systems are delivered in stages.
We do not hold security clearances. We work under NDA on the unclassified parts of a system, with sample or synthetic data, and hand over designs and code your cleared team can integrate.
Drop us a message, Anna reviews every brief personally and gets back to you within one business day. From there it's simple: we align on scope, sign the contract, and book your start date. Fast, clear, no back-and-forth.
