#30ua. Interactive promo website for 30 years of Ukraine’s independence
About
#30ua is an independent image campaign that told the world about Ukraine’s achievements over 30 years of independence. Cosmos Studio led the UX/UI design and digital experience, combining storytelling, animation and interactivity. The site got 300,000+ views and 10 international design awards.
A volunteer creative coalition
The project was created by a group of creative agencies and design studios at their own expense, with no funding from the state or business. A team of creatives developed the content strategy, and materials for the site were gathered from open sources.
Challenge
The goal was a promo website that tells the story of independent Ukraine in an engaging, interactive way. We had to unite seven themes – sport, business and IT, science and technology, culture, art and cinema, music and tourism – into one experience that motivates people to explore the content and share it on social media. To do that we combined UX/UI design with animation, video, sound effects and interactive mechanics, plus AR masks for Instagram and TikTok.
Idea and identity
We wanted more than an information website – a digital story that evokes emotion and pride in Ukraine. The team spent almost a month searching for a concept that combines modern design with strong content for an international audience. The visual system blends a modern digital style with traditional Ukrainian ornaments and custom Ukrainian typography – contemporary, yet rooted in cultural identity.
One story, one design system
We built the site as one interactive story where each themed section has its own atmosphere, color system and animation. The main challenge was uniting seven different topics in a shared visual system that keeps one style across the site while letting every section have its own character.
Sport, Business & IT, Science
Sport celebrates Ukrainian athletes with video, audio of legendary moments and interactive elements. Business & IT tells the stories of Ukrainian tech companies, unicorn startups and innovative businesses through dynamic compositions and video. Science & Technology uses interactive animation, diagrams and video to show Ukrainian innovation and scientific achievements.
Culture, Art & Cinema, Music, Tourism
Culture combines modern design with national identity to tell about the Ukrainian language, traditions, cuisine and heritage. Art & Cinema uses unconventional compositions, large photos, video and smooth transitions between stories. Music is built around audio, video and stories of Ukrainian artists. Tourism features the most interesting places in Ukraine with Google Maps integration, photos and information about natural and cultural landmarks.
AR masks and awards
To engage the audience, FFFACE.ME created AR masks for Instagram and TikTok that let people join the celebration and share the campaign. The project received wide international recognition and 10 prestigious awards in design and digital products.
Results
#30ua became one of the largest and most meaningful projects for our team. We created an interactive promo website that unites modern UX/UI design, storytelling, animation, multimedia and national identity into one digital experience. The project drew international attention to Ukraine’s achievements, got 300,000+ views and won 10 international design awards.
